Should I Bring On A CoFounder Before Building My Prototype?

The classic chicken or the egg scenario

“Don’t get too invested,” I replied.

He saw his friend who was excitedly talking about revisiting a creative venture that they had been talking about for years.

“All this enthusiasm and ‘work’, yet I haven’t seen him actually put something out into the world. Wait and see,” I advised.

Raise your hand if you’ve been that friend that loves the new idea phase.

Now, raise your hand if you’ve been that friend, recruited others, and then bailed on the idea.

This happens ALL the time.

When it comes to finding a partner or cofounder, selling them your idea isn’t gonna cut it.

You need to show traction.

They say:

The proof is in the pudding.

That’s why you want to take your business as far as it possibly can go before adding someone to the mix.

When you have something to show them – numbers, results, happy customers – your business proposition is real. It’s not another roller coaster ride.
